World CalendarWorld Calendar allows you to choose one or more cities from its database of 30,000 cities of the world. It calculates fixed and movable dates for public and religious and world holidays.
It displays for each city, holidays of its country and region (if relevant).
Holidays and significant dates relevant to each country of the world is included. Public, regional and bank holidays are clearly indicated.
Holidays are displayed for current Year as default but an option is available to choose any year to display.
No connection to internet is needed unless you click on a link (such as the location co-ordinates which links to Google Maps or CIA factbook) as all information is calculated or provided as part of the application.
The application also displays useful location specific information for each city chosen:
- time zones
- start and end of Summertime (if relevant)
- currency
- location coordinates in Longitude, Latitude
- sunrise and sunset timings
- moon phases
- dial codes (entry, exit and trunk codes)
- link to Google maps (internet or 3G or wifi connection required)
"World Events" tab enables you to view world events and significant religious dates of major religions of the world - Hindu, Islamic, Christian, Chinese, Shinto and Buddhist.
The "Settings" tab allows you to customise the world events display to your religion or religions of interest.
